Prosthetic and integrative assistance is the service that ensures patients in the ASL Città area
of Turin
the supply of wheelchairs, orthopedic beds, walkers, artificial limbs, ocular and hearing prostheses, corsets, collars, etc.
Specifically, it deals with documents relating to the supply of:
- prosthetic devices (busts, insoles, hearing aids, orthopedic beds, wheelchairs, lung ventilators...) incontinence devices (diapers, pads, catheters...) dressing material material for ostomies dietary foods for nephropathic and celiac patients
in favor of people with disabilities, according to the indications of the National Tariff Nomenclator and according to specific regional provisions.
Come?
It is possible to use the service by booking a specialist visit, when required by law, at
a public structure to obtain the prescription of the necessary aids.
The prescription must be carried out by specialist doctors of the National Health Service or, in the cases provided
by regional provisions, by General Practitioners.
- It is essential to request the supply at the office where you have your registered residence. For prostheses you need a civil disability certificate. For disposable aids (diapers, catheters, stomas, dressing material, etc.) it is almost never needed
To obtain authorization, residents of the ASL City of Turin are not obliged to go to the ASL headquarters,
but they can ask their trusted supplier if they have joined or intend to join the ASL Città initiative
of Turin for the simplified issuing of authorizations.
These are the phases:
- Once the doctor has prescribed the aids, the citizen will have to go to the trusted supplier to request a quote.
- the Supplier, with the user's consent, will send the estimate directly to the Prosthetics Sector of the City of Turin ASL (via e-mail).
- the Prosthetics/Integrative Sector will issue the authorization or supply, maintaining direct contact with the identified Supplier.
- the Supplier will notify the citizen to agree on the methods and times for collecting the device. Once the device has been removed, the citizen must contact the Specialist Doctor who prescribed the prosthetic device for testing, when required.
- once the device has been collected, the citizen will have to contact the Specialist Doctor who prescribed the prosthetic device for testing, when required.
